Seoul Secret Weapon
From Nobody to Gangnam Style. From Apple to SAMSUNG. From Hollywood Stars to K-pop fans. What's happening to the world right now?
Well, I think many people have different opinions on how this 'whole' thing just came out early on the year 2009.
Wikipedia stated,
"Seoul, South Korea "Capital City", from ancient Sillan "Seorabeol"[5]), officially the Seoul Special City, is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea. A megacity with a population of more than 10 million, it is the largest city proper in the OECD developed world.[6] The Seoul National Capital Area, which includes the surrounding Incheon metropolis and Gyeonggi province, is the world's second largest metropolitan area with more than 25 million[7] inhabitants. Nearly one of every four South Koreans lives in Seoul; half of South Koreans live in the metropolitan area, as well as 275,000 international residents"
But if you ask a random person on the street, you could have got one of these answers:
What is the first thing when you heard 'Seoul, South Korea'?
"Heyyyyy..... Sexy Lady,oh oh oh, Oppa Gangnam Style"
"The city of good looking people"
"Super Junior"
"Plastic Surgery?"
"Galaxy note"
"Kpop"
Some people maybe couldn't accept that they are quite a powerful country right at this moment. They controlled the entertainment and the economy(Samsung).
But what I really want to highlight about Korean is actually about how they really appreciate their mother tongue.
It's very rare to see their kpop celebrities speaking in English if they were having a concert in overseas. They didn't even care how people are thinking that they're so lame and outdated for not thinking how English is very easy to learn and English play the main part of languages in communication.
Thus, I believe if we be more like Koreans, appreciating our own mother tongue and learn from them how to appreciate how unique we are as Malaysians and spread the our uniqueness to the world.
